About Tammi J. Driver
Tammi practices exclusively in the area of adoption law. She is Board Certified in adoption law by The Florida Bar and is a Fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Adoption Attorneys. Tammi first began working in adoptions as a licensed mental health counselor, counseling expectant/birth parents and conducting home studies of prospective adoptive parents. She has been the Director of Legal Services and the Executive Director of two of the largest adoption agencies in the state of Florida.
Tammi graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, magna cum laude, from Western Kentucky University in 1988, and received her Master’s degree in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Community Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1989. After practicing for many years as a therapist, administrator, and consultant, Tammi decided to earn a law degree to better advocate for children and families. In 2005, she earned her law degree with honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
During law school, Tammi interned with the Unified Family Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County and as a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow for the Guardian ad Litem program with the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association. After graduating from law school, Tammi practiced in the areas of domestic violence, disability advocacy, and insurance defense before focusing her practice on adoptions.
Tammi is a proud member of The Florida Bar, American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, Florida Adoption Council, St. Petersburg Bar Association, Canakaris Inn of Court, Pinellas County Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, the American Bar Association (ABA), and the ABA Section of Family Law and Committee on Adoption, Alternative Families, and Assisted Reproductive Technologies.
